International Activism Programs
Description:
Overview of the International Activist Training Program Global PACT international Activist Training programs are designed to help participants learn the ability to develop and implement projects that benefit individual communities. It is an intensive peer-to-peer training program that will show you how to identify the root causes of larger problems, create viable solutions, and establish grassroots organizations. Programs are based in Brazil, Cambodia, Croatia, South Africa, and Thailand. After an exit exam, participants are awarded Global PACT Activist Certification. Overview of the Activism Experiences Program The Global PACT Activism Experiences program is designed to give participants an understanding of how NGO's (non-governmental organizations) function and how it is possible to make lasting change. Global PACT is pleased to announce our first Activism Experience program in association with the Monteverde Institute (MVI), a Costa Rican non-profit association dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice on the sustainable management of resources through education, applied research and community engagement. The program will take place in early January of 2009. Overview of the Development Internship Program The Global PACT Development Internship Program lasts one semester (Fall or Spring) and is based at our regional facility in Phrao, Thailand. Individuals who are interested can choose a concentration from a list of open positions at the Warm Heart Organization. Past positions include a wide assortment of jobs - just a few examples include landscape architect, nurse, public health program manager, and small business developer. For a current list of positions, visit the "Join" section of the Warm Heart website. After an exit exam, participants are awarded the highest level of Global PACT Activist Certification.
