Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months and 7-12 months
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Dates: all year

Description: In this program you will assist in centers that are located in the city of Huancayo. The orphanages are places of transition for children and adolescents in a state of physical or moral abandonment. They offer to the children food and nutrition, education, guidance, and company, among many other things. Volunteers work with male children and adolescents between 5 and 18 years at social risk who present many problems; many are orphans, others have suffered domestic violence, or have been abandoned by their parents.

Working with these children and adolescents will allow you to learn more about the problems that poverty and marginalization have brought to this group that is highly senstive and vulnerable. But above all, it will allow you to help them, collaborating with their rehabilitation and reassimilation into society, where they can be made into good Peruvian citizens as adults.

Activities performed as a volunteer:
- Care and protection of the children.
- Support in the activities of food and hygiene.
- Activities to encourage their intellectual, physical, and social development.
- Development of skills, through sports, dance, music, singing, etc&

Other activities you can help with include:
- Helping the children with their homework; science, math, or language (English)
- Teaching: English, music, painting, or many other things, depending on your creativity and skills or talents.
- Teaching reading and writing
- Helping in developmental activities, such as: Sports, dance, music, and singing, recreational games etc.

However, the most important thing about working as a volunteer in this project is the interaction between you and the children, who need a lot of attention, care, and above all, love!
