Description:
We provide a number of different social and environmental projects. In each of these projects, you as a volunteer will be helping local communities and strengthening our partner's activities. * Work with Children Project: This is an excellent project for those who enjoy working with children. You will perform several educational and cultural activities with children, where cultural exchange, love and care will be the greatest contributions as volunteers. As examples of activities, we can mention traditional games and music from different cultures present in the project. * Preparation for Carnival Project: In this project, you will have the opportunity to work together with the community, in making costumes for Carnival. It is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Rio de Janeiro carnival culture. * Teaching English Project: As a volunteer on this project, you will be teaching English to the students of this school. Together with the school principal, you will devise a class schedule of learning, games and activities. One of the greatest benefits to the volunteers, the students and the community in general is cultural exchange, therefore, to be willing to teach and learn all the time. * Environmental Reforestation Project: This project is highly recommended for those who wish to engage in environmental work. In addition to helping in the region's reforestation, you will also learn much about the environment from the institute's excellent and dedicated staff. At Instituto Terra, you will participate in activities such as environmental education, gardening, landscaping, seedling production, planting, reforestation and monitoring. In Aimorés community, you will able to visit some other organizations, such as the Association of Parents and Friends of the Handicapped (APAE), The Association of Assistance to Aimoré's Minor (AAMAR), Home for Old People Jesus Nazareno, among others.
Highlights:
The benefits the volunteer acquires when participating in a project promoted by Bee Volunteer are enormous and immeasurable. However, we can highlight a few examples, such as: 1) By participating in a Bee Volunteer project you will be doing something in collective benefit, in other words, you will be helping to minimize social and environmental problems that are present on our planet. 2) By participating in a Bee Volunteer project you get first hand experience of the local Brazilian culture. You experience how the local people live, and you get to live as they do - you participate fully in their community - working, living and eating as they do.
Qualifications:
Each project has distinct pre-requirements. However, it not necessary to have any specific skills or experience. The most important factor in being a volunteer is the will to participate in a voluntary experience, to be open to new experiences, learning and interactions with others, and to share your knowledge and skills with other volunteers and with the local community you are resident in.
