Working with locals, volunteers will build schools, libraries and community facilities in the village situated one hour south of Nairobi in the beautiful Rift Valley Province.
Highlights:
Volunteers benefit from working in a group, which offers the sense of team work and group accomplishment. Volunteers work with and alongside locals. By working together, one benefits from a real sense of global citizenship and solidarity. All experiences are led by an experienced team leader who helps facilitate the experience. Developing World Connections's Mission Statement: Our Mission:
To contribute to the betterment of our global community by providing service to people in developing nations.
Our Philosophy:
Developing World Connections strongly believes that great learning comes as a result of working with people from all nations. It is not our purpose to change the culture of our host country, but rather to embrace and better understand the differences that give equal value to each society. Our volunteers are guests who respect the host country's culture and honour the goodwill extended to them during their visit.
We believe the footprint we leave behind should be gentle, the friendships great, and the memories we bring home should positively and profoundly impact our lives.
