Volunteer Work in Latin and South America
Peru
Duration of Program: over 2 years
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Description:
Deciding on which type of project you are best suited for can be a long and drawn out process. There are always important questions to ask yourself before choosing where you will go and what you will do. Being honest with yourself and having insight into your own strengths and weaknesses will enable you to reach your aspirations and will also make you a greater service to the project. Depending on the answers to these questions, there is a large range of where your volunteer work can go. Some different volunteer opportunities are the following: * Building a home, clinic or school * Mentoring children in rehabilitating situations * Working in after school projects * Practicing sustainable agriculture * Teaching English * Protecting endangered species in animal conservation sites * Assisting in an archaeological dig * Supporting human rights efforts
