ESL Curriculum Developer
Palestine
Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 3-6 months
Description:
Project Hope seeks an experienced volunteer for three months to help develop EFL curriculum, materials and assessment tools for a special EFL project for children (10 - 18 years) in the refugee camps and city of Nablus. There is a large pool of volunteers who can teach English. There is likewise a large demand from Palestinians of all ages to learn English. It allows them better access to jobs and to speak to the outside world. We prefer experienced English teachers or people who speak English as a first language. However, people who speak English well as a second language prove to be good teachers of low-level English classes. We try to provide multiple levels of English, from the very basics to conversation and writing.
Highlights:
Accommodation and Arabic lessons will be provided in return for volunteering.

The volunteer should possess a university degree, TESL qualifications (preferably an MA in TESL or Applied Linguistics or a TESL diploma with considerable experience in curriculum/materials development), and at least two years' experience teaching ESL/EFL to children.
