Description: Gawad Kalinga means "to give care" in Tagalog, the language of the Philippines. Volunteers will be involved in the ground level operations of at least one of Gawad Kalinga 7 programs: shelter/site development, child/youth development, health, productivity, community empowerment, environment, or culture/tourism.

Highlights: Volunteers have the opportunity to make a lasting and sustainable impact in our war against poverty.

Qualifications: A successful Gawad Kalinga volunteer:
-has a genuine love, concern, and compassion for the poor
-can commit to at least 6 months of service in the Philippines
-is a team player
-possesses skills/interests in any of the following: administration, architecture, arts, athletics, child/youth development, communications, community organizing, environmental science, health, management, teaching, urban planning
