Development Internship and Volunteering for Fresh Start

Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer, Throughout the year, Trimester, Winter 
Dates: 3-month commitment

Description: Fresh Start Surgical Gifts is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing free reconstructive plastic surgery to children with physical deformities. Children come from all over San Diego, the United States and the world to receive these services, provided by a team of highly skilled volunteers.

Through the Fresh Start Development Internship you will learn how to successfully manage financial relationships and gain valuable experience in nonprofit development, relationship-building, budgeting, sales and communication. We are a cohesive, dynamic, development team, who needs your help in transforming the lives of children with physical deformities.

Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and writes grant proposals to private and corporate foundations.
* Manage donor base through database system.
* Provide support to Butterfly Ball & Celebrity Golf Classic Auction as needed.
* Initiate development strategies on an as needed basis.
* Research new avenues for funding from corporate, foundation, and community sources.
* Support the donor recognition program as needed.

Fresh Start Surgical Gifts is a Carlsbad based nonprofit that transforms the lives of disadvantaged children with deformities cause by birth defects, accidents, abuse or disease through the gift of a fresh start.
