Description:
Volunteers on this program can help make children's stays in the hospital more pleasant. Whether through recreation, assistance, or just company, children welcome the volunteers' presence. To help to accomplish this, volunteers should have the following: - Enjoyment of working with kids - Fantastic interpersonal skills with the patients, parents, employees and the rest of the members of the hospital community - A special charisma for dealing with people that need special treatment and sensitivity for the conditions and afflictions of the children at the hospital. Volunteer Activities May Include: - Assisting doctors and nurses in care for children - Helping with patient's therapy and recreation - Keep children company during their stay at the hospital
