Description: Special Educational Needs Centre was established in 2001 to introduce the use of Dramatherapy, Expressive Arts, Playtherapy and Psychodrama as a form of intervention with various populations. This is done with the intention to heal and help individuals in crises/special needs to expand their quality of life. It is intended also to develop communication skills and to draw out talents in ordinary children.

The Centre which is an NGO, aims to assist schools in Accra to develop support programmes for pupils who are at risk from dropping out of school due to special needs. They are the biggest resource centre for special needs education and are heavily supported by the British High Commission, but interns should be aware that it is a small organisation with very limited resources.

A Speech and Language Therapist is required to work closely with the children who all have various levels of speech and communication. The ideal candidate will have at least an educational background in speech and language therapy.
