Description:
Volunteers will be required to interact with the general public of many nationalities. Duties include night surveys on the beaches monitoring and tagging nesting females, early morning beach patrol to monitor nests, public awareness in the form of talking to tourists on the beach during the day to ensure they comply with guildelines set down by The National Marine Park of Zakynthos, slide show presentations at local hotels, nest excavations 2 weeks after hatchlings first emerge, and selling fund-raising items in our kiosk.
Highlights:
This is a lifetime experience for anyone to become involved in ensuring the future of the endangered loggerhead turtle in the most important nesting area in the whole Mediterranean.
Qualifications:
No qualifications are required for this voluntary position. The only requirement is general good health, and a minimum participation period of 28 days.
