Family Volunteer Travel in Nepal

Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates.

Description: Volunteering overseas as a family offers one of the most incredibly rewarding experiences for all involved. Voluntourism for families is a great way for families to experience exciting and new cultures together, doing something completely different in a safe and ethical way. Family volunteering also allows your children to discover parts of the world they would probably never learn about at school in an in-depth way not possible on a normal vacation.

GVI is pleased to announce that all children under the age of 18 will receive a 1/3rd off the total price on all of our family volunteering projects.

GVI offers several volunteer opportunities throughout Nepal including work in schools and orphanages, with ex-street children, and on environmental projects. Nepal is a developing country with a large percentage of its population living below the poverty line. It is a culturally amazing country - the only Hindu kingdom in the world, with Hindu Temples and Buddhist shrines scattered throughout the land. Of the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world, eight are located in Nepal! Join this GVI volunteer program and experience first hand the beauty of the Himalayan mountains and Kathmandu, and participate in outdoor adventures including trekking and white water rafting.

* How this program makes a difference:

Aside from providing invaluable help with hands on work, volunteer contributions are a vital source of funding for many of GVI's projects in Nepal. This especially applies to the children's homes, most of whom have very limited resources and no regular income.

* Please note due to the varying group dynamics of different families (for example the number of children and ages of children), each application is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Please call us directly to discuss your family's volunteer travel requirements.
