Taking Responsibility For Children

  Indonesia
    Jakarta,  Semarang,  Surabaya,  Ubud,  Yogyakarta

Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: over 2 years
Dates: ongoing

Description: The Sacred Childhoods Foundation supports children in Indonesia who are suffering from extreme poverty, exploitation, slavery, trafficking, abuse and neglect. We are not affiliated with any religion or political group. We believe that all children are equally deserving of protection and the opportunities to grow and to thrive.

We have a number of projects including work at orphanages and kindergartens. Whatever skills and experience you have we can almost always find a way to utilize these on your volunteering trip. You will leave knowing that you've truly helped a group of very vulnerable children, and in so doing been a part of a foundation that is doing all that it can to make a difference. We take fantastic care of our volunteers, ensuring that they are happy, safe and enjoying their experience throughout.

If you have experience in theatre, art, research, gardening and farming, web design, accounting, dance or music you can be of particular help on our projects.

Taking Responsibility For Children

Highlights: Many of our projects are in Bali, a vibrant and exciting part of Indonesia with all the tourist infrastructure to enable you to enjoy your time off and soak up the culture and entertainment. For those wanting to do research there are opportunities to explore the rest of Indonesia, and for those willing to get knee deep in rubbish (trash) we will soon be helping children living on dumpsites. In other words, whatever kind of volunteering experience you're interested in we can help you to have a rewarding time and to support the children.

Qualifications: If you care deeply about the welfare of the world's children and can sing, dance, make people laugh, play, do sports, be in nature, teach, swim, or go on trips then you're qualified to be a volunteer. Equally, if you have experience in IT and web design, accounting, business, project management, research or fundraising you can also be of immense help.
