Description:
The public healthcare industry in modern-day Ecuador is less than developed, often offering sub-par facilities to its ailing citizens. This healthcare - medical project is the perfect fit for both: individuals interested in pursuing a position in the medical field and already-existing healthcare professionals looking to lend their developed, medical expertise to the underdeveloped healthcare industry of Ecuador. As an overseas medical volunteer (pre-med, medical students, nursing students or professional), you can help by sharing your medical skills and working alongside local staff to provide those in need with basic and good medical care. The general objective of this project is to provide and improve primary health care service and to promote health education in Ecuador. Medical will work at either larger or small, urban or rural hospitals or medical NGOs throughout the country, which are overcrowded with patients in need, serving to the most vulnerable members of the communities. Our Public Healthcare / Medical Volunteer Program are a great way to make a real contribution in the lives of disadvantaged population (families and children) of Ecuador. Volunteers will be involved in the daily procedures of medical centers (depending on their education, skills, experience, and qualifications) providing various sorts of assistance to existing doctors and nurses in different medical fields such as emergency service, general medicine, maternal health, peediatrician, administration of vaccines, campaigns to prevent certain diseases, etc. Moreover, volunteers may also provide much-needed assistance in various health "camps," distribute medication, provide tips to patients regarding proper health, nutrition, personal hygiene, sanitation as well as providing general counsel to in-need Ecuadorians.
