Description:
Join and help Orphans in need. Volunteering with children in an orphanage is the most rewarding experience for volunteers. Our Orphanages care for abandoned children who have been brought to the centers by local police. The children come from a variety of situations including loss of one or both parents, physical and sexual abuse, extreme poverty, and more suffering than any child should have to bear. The goal of our orphanages is to provide these children with affection, support, and a decent life in the hopes of helping them to become responsible citizens. We have orphanages throughout Ecuador where you can volunteer. As a care volunteer working with children in orphanages, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of an orphanage and would be helping the kids to learn life-skills that parents would normally teach. Depending on your own skills and interests, you are free to help the children with daily care, feeding, playing, education and helping with their homework, read stories, teach songs, clothing, change diapers, help them with their wash, and take them for outings, assisting the local staff with repairs and upkeep the facilities, spend quality time with the children, etc. Although working at the orphanage is frustrating at times and will require a lot of patience, you will experience the gratification of helping children who would otherwise be living on the streets looking for food and shelter. Come and experience what life is beyond the square you live in! The experience of a lifetime awaits you and ELEP can make it happen...come for it!
