Description: We are in need of English speaking volunteers to provide English lessons to Peruvian students at English schools. Learners are from 6 to 20 years old and they are divided by age and English levels. Volunteers are provided with a fixed-curriculum, Teaching materials and the position is supported by a local a teacher coordinator. Our volunteers are asked by school authorities to develop their own projects to help students learn English.

* What kind of skills do I need?
Experience of teaching is certainly an asset but not essential. However, a love for teaching, plenty of patience and understanding, enthusiasm and a desire to improve your students' prospects by learning English is perhaps more important. You will be a native or near native speaker of English language. Although you do not need formal teaching qualifications or formal teacher training. You do however need a good grasp of the English language and plenty of enthusiasm and confidence. You will be teaching in a classroom environment, which may involve formal teaching, conversation class, singing songs and playing games.

Your Role as a Volunteer: Provide English lessons to Peruvian students.

Qualifications: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to apply for our volunteer program, have at least an understandable Spanish level and should learn as much as you can before you arrive to your placement town, also must have very fluent English.

    What's included in the program fee?

    * Three meals a day: The program fee covers three daily local meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
    * Home-stay accommodation: Volunteers will stay with a host family in a single or shared room (depending on availability).
    * Pick up: With Lima city exception pick up from the bus terminal or the airport is included in all other locations.

    * Support of local coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Awaiting Angels coordinator will help volunteers by supporting them and regularly visiting them.
    * Information Packet: Awaiting Angels offers detailed information on issues that will concern volunteers, such as health, safety, and cultural shock.
    * Orientation: Upon arrival in your location, participants are met at the airport or bus station and taken to the home of their host family. There you will receive an orientation that will familiarize you with the local area, the Peruvian culture, and your program.
