Description:
For the truly ambitious volunteer, we have a few placements available in Junior High Schools around Ghana. These placements require patient, tolerant volunteers that like working with middle-years students and have a good understanding of adolescent issues. Knowledge of participatory learning techniques is also quite helpful. Volunteers can expect to conduct lessons on a variety of topics including Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Biology, Physics, and Physical Education. Additional topics driven by the interests and expertise of volunteers are warmly welcomed!
Qualifications:
-Some university education is required -Exceptional English communication skills -Patience and flexibility -Experience working with youth between the ages of 12 to 15 years -Ability to work as part of a diverse team -Creativity is a valuable asset
Minimum Education: High School
Cost in US$: 1200
Salary / Pay: A fee of US$1200 is charged for a standard eight-week placement. This fee includes:
*Accommodation (private room in a comfortable home-stay setting)
