Description: Various placements are available for pre-med students looking to gain experience in a hospital setting in West Africa. Successful volunteers will have the chance to work closely with a local government-run hospital in a rural or urban setting. Volunteers will have their choice of which department to work with and can even opt to rotate through the hospital departments throughout their stay to get a better sense of how the whole system works. All of the available hospitals are quite busy and most have a laboratory and pharmacy on site.

Qualifications: The following skills are desired:
* Be a pre-med or medical student
* Previous experience working in a hospital setting
* Possess exceptional communication (writing, speaking and listening)
* Understanding, open-minded and respectful of different cultural practices
* Able to adapt quickly to new situations
* Comfortable working with diverse clientele
