Buenos Aires
Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Description:
Experience Argentina in a unique way as a volunteer within an established organization. Founded in Sante Fe, Argentina in 1966, this NGO has since spread to all major cities around the country helping many Argentine families and communities. Its goal is to serve the most vulnerable sector of society, a portion of the population which unfortunately continues to grow. By providing educational, emotional, and financial support services to children, adults, elderly and the disabled, the center serves as a focal point in their lives. Through organized sports activities, professional day-care services, and a free health care clinic, the members are able to have many basic needs met while also spending time together, growing as a community. Volunteers will enjoy the organized atmosphere at the center while working on projects with all age groups. Help is needed with sports activities, in the day-care, teaching English, constructing age-appropriate educational workshops, and most importantly, sharing your smile with the community. Volunteers will stay with carefully screened host families for the duration of the program. Two meals a day with your host family are included in your stay. **No meals are served on Sundays. Our staff in the U.S. are experienced volunteers themselves who are happy to share their insight and expertise with prospective volunteers. Our partner staff in Argentina are friendly, caring and dedicated to ensuring that each volunteer's experience is the best it can be. You will be met at the airport and will receive a personal orientation to your new home and your project within the first few days of your arrival. A staff member in Argentina will be available to you throughout your program.
