Child Development Center in Argentina
Argentina
Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: Flexible, Year Round
Description:
Experience the real Argentina in breathtaking Cordoba while helping local children. Besides offering daily care to children while their parents are at work, the staff and volunteers at the center conduct a variety of workshops that help to educate and provide recreational enjoyment for the young ones. They enjoy music classes, nature and science workshops, English lessons, and activities for self-expression and personal development. The 180 children being served are divided in to a morning and afternoon group that lasts about four hours each. The goal of the day-care center is to educate the children in a warm and welcoming environment thus allowing them to become independent, self-confident, and happy. Volunteers are needed to help take care of the children, organize recreational activities and games, lead workshops, and assist with any general duties of the day-care center. Volunteers will stay with carefully screened host families for the duration of the program. Two meals a day with your host family are included in your stay. **No meals are served on Sundays. Our staff in the U.S. are experienced volunteers themselves who are happy to share their insight and expertise with prospective volunteers. Our partner staff in Argentina are friendly, caring and dedicated to ensuring that each volunteer's experience is the best it can be. You will be met at the airport and will receive a personal orientation to your new home and your project within the first few days of your arrival. A staff member in Argentina will be available to you throughout your program.
