Art and Science Museum for Children in Argentina
Argentina
Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: Flexible, year round
Description:
Get to know the real Argentina as a traveler, not a tourist, while forming real connections and relationships with Argentinian children. At this special museum, children can play, learn about science, their bodies, the solar system, and about the world we live in. The main goal of the museum is the transmission of knowledge, values, and skills, through the use of educational and creative games. There is a great emphasis on the interaction between the children as well as their interaction with staff and volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help lead groups of children in educational activities involving art and science projects at the museum. They are also encouraged to contribute to the development of the curriculum by adding new workshops or games. Through the volunteer's actions, he or she is encouraging each child to love learning and explore the future through hands-on learning. Volunteers will stay with carefully screened host families for the duration of the program. Two meals a day with your host family are included in your stay. **No meals are served on Sundays. Our staff in the U.S. are experienced volunteers themselves who are happy to share their insight and expertise with prospective volunteers. Our partner staff in Argentina are friendly, caring and dedicated to ensuring that each volunteer's experience is the best it can be. You will be met at the airport and will receive a personal orientation to your new home and your project within the first few days of your arrival. A staff member in Argentina will be available to you throughout your program.
