Ghana
Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: February 2 to 8, 2009
Description:
AJWS Study Tours provide a profound encounter with AJWS project partners and grantees, challenging participants to experience firsthand the problems and solutions that people in the developing world face and create every day. Led by AJWS President Ruth Messinger, study tour participants witness the inspirational work of AJWS grantees. They meet visionary local leaders who are transforming their communities and creating meaningful change. Study tour participants also learn about regional history, culture and politics from leading journalists, politicians and academics. An AJWS Study Tour is no ordinary tourist trip. Participants return from their study tour experience with a deep understanding of the work AJWS supports, and an intense commitment to tikkun olam in its most elemental form.
