Christian Volunteer Opportunities in Uganda
Uganda
Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months and 7-12 months
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Dates: Open
Description:
Even if you cannot volunteer long enough to help build a house, or teach our children, or sew with our widows, we know that scheduling a "working vacation" in East Africa will open your eyes like nothing else can. Come spend a week or two getting to know East Africa and its people -- we guarantee you that you will never forget the people or the country. * Evangelism and church planting * Education by establishing and partnering with schools in order to support needy and orphaned children and youths. * Agricultural input and food security to rural communities by organising seminars and seeds/seedlings support with a component of Environmental Preservation. * HIV/AIDS and Primary Health Care to families affected by various diseases. * Business skills promotion and micro credit programs to poor families I the urban and rural.
Highlights:
Did you know that 95% of the world's AIDS orphans live in Sub-Saharan Africa? This is why we focus on saving as many of these children as possible. It's obvious to anyone who has visited the streets and the IDP camps that these orphaned children have little -- if any -- practical hope for the future.
Qualifications:
We have many opportunities for groups, families, couples, or singles who are interested in helping orphans and widows in the heart of Africa. There are opportunities in all aspects of our operations. Anyone with a heart to reach out and serve orphans and widows in Africa will find exciting projects to help. Construction workers, painters, administrators, managers, students, teachers -- your time and skills will be put to great use!
