Description:
The program in CAS-Nepal has been designed according to different interest. Designed programs are equally important for their respective field in Nepal. Volunteers have the option to choose one of the given programs. The placement will be tailored according to your own needs and interests. Teaching English: After completing the training phase, volunteers will go to one of the placement village areas. Volunteers live with host family and go to school with one family member. Volunteers will teach at local school for 2 to 4 hours each day, 6 days in a week. Saturday is day off. The system of teaching is different in Nepal. Volunteers don't need to use the same method. They will be encouraged to use their own teaching methodologies. Volunteers will also be involved in teaching youth clubs or women group for informal education 1 to 2 hours a day. School children will be 6 to 16 years of age and have a basic level of English. Class size ranges from 20 to 60 students. Volunteers are also expected to share their own teaching methodologies as well as help the school teacher to increase their own conversational English skills. Our fee structure is more affordable than other organizations. Everyone can join and have true experience of the Nepali life and its culture along with Nepal's breathtaking scenarios. Registration Fee: $ 25(non refundable) Program Fees * Two weeks $250 * One month $350 * One and half month $440 * Two months $530 * Three months $660 * Four months $740 * Five months $800 The above costs include the following : - Transportation to and from Kathmandu airport. - Transportation to and from placements. - Accommodation and meal during training period and placement. - Nepali language and cultural information class. - Administrative cost. - Contribution to CAS-Nepal projects e.g. Child learning center and youth mobilization activities in village. This excludes your flight ticket in Nepal and visa fees. If you wish to spend more time in Kathmandu pre and post placement period, trekking and sight seeing are just two of the best things to do. Please remember to budget accordingly. This cost will not be covered by CAS-Nepal. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for any extra costs (extra food, laundry, and sodas) during training and placement. The program fees should be paid either in local currency or US Dollar upon arrival in Kathmandu.
Qualifications:
Good english is a must. No formal education is required as long as you can speak and write English precisely and can teach English in schools, home and community centers. For school teaching you should have college qualification and willingness to work in any set of environment. Higher qualifications will be given priority.
