Description:
Orphanages and Rehabilitation The numbers of poverty stricken as well as armed conflict children are escalating day after day due to growing situation of Nepal. Therefore such people, especially underage children, need to be rehabilitated. For this, VIN will set up orphanages and some rehabilitation centers where Volunteers will be placed and they will live there with the children, assisting them in their day-to-day routines. This reveals that volunteer in an orphanage is really a great opportunity to experience the obstacles and rewards of serving helpless people. The children are mostly between the ages of four and fifteen and have a basic understanding of English. The general role of the volunteer will be to act as an older sibling: to care for, look after and encourage the children. Volunteers will teach the children English, general life skills, including health and sanitation, as well as arts, crafts and music. They may also help the children with their schoolwork. And they will be teaching life skills, e.g. communication skills, decision making skills, leadership skills and other skills. Besides, VIN will assist the adolescent children who have been the victim of drug addiction by keeping them in the rehab centers where they will get proper care as well as guidance and treatment. VIN thus hopes to alleviate drug affected children and gives them a new life. VIN also provides them opportunities to learn various life skills such as knitting, typing, secretarial trainings, sewing, wood work and carpentry so that such children can ultimately live a happy life on their own even after they leave the center or the orphanage Working with elderly Citizen We also support interested personnel who want to serve elderly people, however this is not our main focus. Interested volunteers will be placed in the care centers for the elderly and can help the elderly citizens with their daily activities. If you love to serve elderly people then contact us. We can be the right hand to help you work with them.
