Description:
Get to know the fascinating culture of Benin while you live among the Beninois and use your talents and skills to assist a clinic that serves a large portion of the impoverished population in its community. With pediatric, maternity, and general medicine wards, you will always find many patients to tend to. A laboratory is on-site helping to increase the amount of diagnostic testing performed. Volunteers will be working closely with clinic staff to assist with everything from routine check-ups to collaborating in more severe cases. Volunteers are able to help in any area of the hospital where they have previous experience or find most interesting.
Qualifications:
Volunteers must be trained health care professionals or advanced in their studies of medicine and be comfortable working with patients. An intermediate level of French is required. French lessons are available prior to the volunteer project for an additional fee.
