Brigade Co-ordinator
Cuba
Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Summer 2008 & Winter 08/09
Description:
The Brigades are 2 - 3 weeks long and you spend most of this time on a camp near Havana, mornings are spent working, with the most recent groups helping on agricultural cooperatives, but past work has also involved light construction work. The afternoon is a time to learn about the country and particularly the successes of the Revolution, with visits to schools, medical institutions and social projects and talks from experts on issues such as the economy and foreign relations. The evening is all about fun, when you get to mix with the participants from all over the world as well as the locals and experience some of things that Cuba is famous for; rum, cigars, dancing and much more. There is still plenty of free time to look around and in particular to explore Havana, plus if you would like to extend your flight this can be done, normally with no extra cost.
