Description: The work will consist of working for the club to develop and improve our facilities. Volunteers coming to this project should be aware that their job will be to improve the facilities in the camp and the museum. This will include maintenance of already existing constructions, improving the camp, building the stable, cleaning the forest, making footpaths, painting, putting fences in the camp, building the coffee shop, repairing our boat Neptune 1, installing electric installations, etc. and anything that needs to be done.

We need your ideas, motivation, creation, etc. to build a much better camp. We are ready to listen to your suggestions and ideas but sometimes (due to financial restrictions) we can't materialize your ideas. We much more like working with our existing tools, materials (mainly provided by nature) and financial abilities. Think of a Boy Scout camp that needs to be improved.

Also, we are planning to have a lot of interesting work like making mosaic, building a Jacuzzi in stone, making a small windmill, working in the farm in the camp, etc. In the farm we have horses, chickens, and a rooster. The farm is developing, and we are very open to ideas and suggestion on how to make it bigger and/or better. It's a big opportunity to learn something new.

For school classes the teacher comes for free.

Qualifications: Be able to understand and speak English.

Our private camp is free to all of our participants.

If our basic accommodation doesn't suit you we can arrange for a rented room for you at an additional price.

The Hellenic Foundation for Youth & Volunteering's Mission Statement: The Hellenic Foundation for Youth & Volunteering (HFYV) and its department (Ionian Sea Research Centre, Fiskardo's Nautical & Environmental Club) is a non-profit organization established on the island of Kefalonia (Cephalonia) in Greece in 1998 and deals mainly with the promotion of volunteering and youth mobility. Since 1999 we are a member of the European Commission supported project, European Voluntary Service and in the year 2003 we have been awarded as one of the 4 best projects in Europe. Parallel to this and since 2000 we are running various internship programs for shorter periods of time (1-2 months). From 2008 we work only with independent volunteers from all over the world on long and short term projects, from 2 weeks to 6 months. The Hellenic Foundation for Youth & Volunteering offers courses, volunteer projects/internships, work camps, and the possibility of learning experiences in the fields of research, rescue and environmental protection.
