Teaching Projects Year Out India teaching programs in rural communities focus on teaching Art to the children of the many rural schools we work with. Year Out India volunteers help in conducting activities like clay modeling, painting, drawing, singing, art & drama, dancing, group work, games or other similar activities. Your help and assistance will be greatly appreciated in these rural schools and will be a refreshing change to existing curriculum. These schools typically have limited resources, both infrastructure and staff. Medical Internship Join our medical internship placements at rural hospitals, clinics and volunteer for our Medical outreach programs. This placement is ideal for volunteers who haven't started medical training yet and for pre-university gapers who are thinking of a career in medicine. Volunteers during this placement will be able to help at all levels, observe the work of different departments, patient management, care and counseling. Medical/Nursing students will be able to get more involved in patient diagnosis, treatment and assist the doctors and surgeons. Community Development Projects There are various community development projects running in rural villages in the western ghat mountain of South India. These projects are a wonderful way for you to get a true insight into Indian culture and way of life as you will be living and working at community projects located at some breathtaking locations in the western Ghat mountains of south India. You will have a unique opportunity to work with the Manna tribe and take part in our ongoing community projects, sanitation and drinking water projects. Our projects are working towards the United Nations Year of Sanitation. Please join us for at these fantastic and worthwhile projects.

Qualifications:
Year Out India looks for committed individuals with a passion for Teaching, Rural development and conservation to assist in our various initiatives at the grass root level. We have several programs running in these areas. Volunteers are allocated programs taking into consideration their interests and the time they have available to spend for these programs. We are looking for volunteer to come to south India this summer and volunteer at our teaching and community development projects in the beautiful Western Ghat Mountains, in Kerala, India. Whether you're looking to take a gap year, a few months break, have recently graduated or just finished school, Yearoutindia volunteering programs give you the chance to take some time off and to spend meaningful time travelling, living, working and exploring India. Anyone over the age of 17 is welcome to come and volunteer. This is fantastic opportunity for volunteers to come and work at unique locations in South India. Cost Include Description:
The volunteer service program fee is used to support the volunteer, the local projects and the service program overall. The service program fee for volunteering service programs in south India works out to about £18 Per Day and INCLUDES Orientation, All food, Bottled water, Accommodation, Project travel + a lot more and stay extensions costs additional per week based on individual program requirements. Airfare or other travel to the site, visas, free-time expenses etc are NOT covered in the program fee. All additional free time travel outside the work program, accommodation and food expenses are to be borne by the volunteers themselves.
