Description: This exciting program offers the opportunity for volunteers to work in the Machalilla National Park, park known by the international and local ecologists as the small Galapagos in the mainland due to its similar flora, fauna, landscapes and islands. ELEP is proud to collaborate with this unique tropical paradise located in the Ecuadorian Coast where you find mangroves, dry forests, rain and cloud forests.

You can volunteer on one of our Conservation & Environment Projects at any phase in your life. Whether you are on a college summer break, gap year from education, career break or an extended vacation, there is important work for you to be involved in and you will make a great contribution. You do not need any previous conservation experience or professional background to collaborate in this project. This project welcomes students, travellers and professionals from around the world who have an interest in hands-on conservation and travel with a meaning purpose and make a real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn about conservation in a wide variety of habitats.

Urgent action is required and volunteers are needed to participate in one or more current programs working with organizations and communities committed to pursuing sustainable development projects. The primary purpose of this project is local reforestation and volunteers are needed year-round to plant trees and work in tree nursery. There are also opportunities to get involved in organic gardening, environmental education, waste reduction and recycling initiatives and investigate sustainable economic alternatives (alternative crops, eco-tourism, etc).

Volunteers play an integral role by becoming involved in the local conservation efforts and developing and innovative ways to develop and protect the community in an eco-friendly manner. As part of the project you will have the chance to live and breathe a new lifestyle as an active member of the community devoted to conversation.

The experience of a lifetime awaits you and ELEP can make it happen...come for it!
