Description:
Eco-Sustainability, Permaculture, Homestead Living, Earth Stewardship, Renewable Energy, Botanical Pharmacopia, Reforestation, Healing Therapies, Watershed Management, Animal Husbandry, Natural Building Methods, Nutritional Bio-Dynamic Gardening, Composting, Trail Maintenance, Furniture Making. These are just some of the things we will be working on, at Finca Tocori Verde the role of the volunteer will be to help out in existing projects and to develop new ones. Experience isn't necessary but helpful. Everyday will be a different task and project, volunteers can be assigned to a project depending on their skills or can choose one themselves. We only require that volunteers work hard but have fun doing it.
Highlights:
Some of the highlights will be viewing wildlife in it's natural jungle setting, getting to know about the local environment, learning about the trees, plants and all around Costa Rican culture, enjoying beautiful waterfalls, learning arts and crafts, learning about natural medicines, interacting and sharing ideas with wonderful people. Volunteers can also go visit the nearby Bribri indigenous reservation (upon request).
Qualifications:
There are no qualifications necessary, we welcome people of all races, creeds, and religions. However, you must definitely have an open mind and above all an easy going spirit towards your fellow man. Having a strong interest in outdoor activities will also enable you to have a better experience
Cost in US$: $140 a week
Cost Include Description:
The cost includes 3 meals a day, a place to stay, transportation from local town of Puerto Viejo that is about a 3 1/2 hour bus ride from the capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose. There will also be an orientation on the farm.

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer will be comfortable with outdoor living situations, will be in relatively good health, willing to work hard, have some knowlege of natural living and the environment or an eagerness to learn, be open-minded to ideas and cultures, be self motivated and creative.
