Nobody in Nepal is as prepared as we are to make your volunteer visit a complete success. We have our own volunteer clubhouse in Thamel just for our volunteers. Here you can use the internet cafe to check e-mail, hang out and take a break, watch some TV or a DVD, have Kul Bahadur the famed porter fix you a cup of real coffee, learn some Nepali and ask our dedicated and professional staff about any aspect of life in Nepal.
Highlights:
Whats your passion? Want to help teach? Work with children in an orphanage? Volunteer at a clinic or hospital? Help human rights groups like our own Mountain Porter Support Project? How about working at the countries only program for Gay, Lesbian and Transgender citizens? Weve got it all. We have rural placements in tiny mountain villages with home stay as well. We can also arrange for trekking and a variety of other outdoor sports for you, like hang gliding or bungee jumping.
Qualifications:
* We are seeking volunteers who are energetic and have a desire to help others. * Experience within the field that you wish to volunteer is helpful, but not mandatory.

Cost Include Description:
Placement Fee: $300 USD - includes pick up and drop off at airport. Introduction at volunteer placement. Full use of Mountain Fund Volunteer Center in Thamel, travel advice and assistance. We will even accompany you on site-seeing around Kathmandu, show you where the locals shop and provide any other support possible to make your stay a really great experience. Homestay: You are welcome to stay in our own volunteer house in Kathmandu. You will have a shared bedroom (3 per persons per room), western style bath with solar hot water, 2 Nepali meals each day (breakfast and dinner), and free use of the internet at the volunteer house. The cost is $10 USD per day. (See photos of home, living room and bedroom, here on this page.) We can arrange remote village placements for you if you wish. We can also arrange trekking in any area of Nepal for you. There are extra charges involved for these. Note: Hospitals in Kathmandu charge a fee for volunteers. This fee of $90 USD is not included in your placement.
