Description:
Take your enthusiasm and passion for learning and helping people to Peru, where you can work on a medical project that will allow you to experience firs- hand the Latin American healthcare system. You and your group members can spend anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks providing assistance to doctors and nurses in local hospitals and medical clinics. Depending on Spanish level and experience, you will be able to rotate through the emergency room, pediatrics, obstetrics, internal medicine, and even surgery, gaining experience by both observing a variety of procedures, and at times providing direct assistance to the physicians. AIDE is a non-profit organization. Donations made on behalf of our programs are tax deductible.
Qualifications:
Eligibility: * At least 18 years old * Be a native English speaker * Posses an intermediate level of Spanish * Eligible to receive a tourist visa to Peru * Medical experience is helpful but not required * Volunteers must bring a white lab coat and scrubs
Cost in US$: $1,300 - $1,595.
