Renovation project at Hanoi's only School for blind children

Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks

Description: Nguyen Dinh Chieu is a school for blind children and a center for blind adults. There are 120 blind children who come from many provinces of Vietnam. They have difficulties in their daily activities.
Volunteers will help them clean and keep the school nice by sweeping the classrooms, painting the walls, doors, windows, and repairing study tables and chairs for the children, before they begin school.

Project dates:
March 17 - March 29, 2008
August 25 - September 5, 2008

There is an extra fee of 150 Euro for participation in this workcamp, intended to support the hosting organization.

Qualifications: We are looking for volunteers who work well with disadvantaged people, especially with the blind. Volunteers will work in a different social and cultural environment and have to be flexible.
