Description:
The internship includes a teaching position in a primary or secondary school of El Alto (according to the intern's preference), a home-stay, 3 meals per day, laundry service, airport pick up and drop off, 50$ cash to purchase school material locally according to each class' needs. Spanish classes are possible but not mandatory while in La Paz. The intern can choose the theme of his/her class according to his major of study. A personal schedule will be set after enrollment according to the intern's demand. Other local activities are possible: hospital visits, orphanages, prisons,... All necessary information will be given after enrollment. A local coordinator will be available to answer questions. Everything is set to make sure each intern has the teaching environment he wishes.

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer at Ecomerica Project is a motivated young student wishing
build his/her cultural awareness and exercice his/her knowledge of spanish to
help children in a poor area of a beautiful country (Bolivia). He/She is willing
to put the necessary time and gather the necessary material to provide those
children with information on different issues such as computer knowledge,
environmental, health care issues, politics, economics or any field of interest!
He/She is motivated to learn about the bolivian way of life and is not going
to change the world, but is going to give a hand to spark interest for a subject
in those children's minds. He/She is an independant, self-evolving person
able to live in a foreign country and aware of the cultural, political and
economical differences that exist.
