Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks

Description:
Get to know this breathtaking African country on a personal level while working side by side with Tanzanians on local projects designed to address the problems of the country's most vulnerable residents. Tanzania faces many of the socio-economic challenges common among developing nations: widespread poverty, lack of adequate health care in rural areas, environmental degradation, and social injustices. As an international volunteer you will provide much needed support to Tanzanians who are working to find practical solutions to these problems. Depending on your skills and interests, you can help provide child care and support services for struggling families, coach soccer or other sports to disadvantaged teens, help alleviate the problems caused by HIV/AIDS, or assist with special environmental projects. Our staff in the U.S. are experienced volunteers themselves who are happy to share their experiences and expertise with prospective volunteers. Our partner staff in Tanzania are friendly, caring and dedicated to ensuring that all volunteers have a rewarding experience.
