Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates.

Description: This project is based in Swazilands famous Ezulwini Valley. Volunteer assist at local primary schools or work on childcare projects in the region. Many of the schools in the Ezulwini Valley are under-resourced, over-crowded and are in great need of support. Class sizes are to large to be productive and volunteers assist local teachers by helping to manage the class as you teach the children English in addition to other subjects. Volunteer who participate on the childcare projects will work at local care centers, which provide underprivileged children with food, care and education. Volunteers teach English to the children, as well as math and life skills; they also arrange games, activities and outings; provide care and support; and assist on improvement projects at the centers.

*How this program makes a difference*
Education is one of the key needs of children and is best hope for a brighter future. Sixty percent of children in Swaziland cannot afford to go to school due to the effects of unemployment, HIV AIDS and the repercussions of severe drought. Swaziland suffers a high rate of unemployment, 50% of Swazi nationals are out of work. About 40% of Swazilands population is HIV positive and by 2010 there will be close to 200,000 orphaned children in the Kingdom.
