Description:
Live in a hilltribe village and work with families at whatever is being carried on (clearing fields, planting, harvesting, community projects such as bathrooms, school improvements, etc). There would also be the chance of getting training in simple village crafts, such as weaving, bamboo table-making, embroidery, etc where the villagers carry them out. There is also the possibility of helping gather/prepare/cook local ingredients. At certain times of the year, there are traditional hilltribe events such as celebrating the New Year (when a taste for rice whisky can be an asset!)
Highlights:
You will live in a traditional hilltribe village in a homestay and teach English to the hilltribe children or at the village school. This a great opportunity to get to know and experience traditional life of the hilltribe people. You will live and work with them side by side.
