Volunteer Travel to Teach in Southern Africa for 12 Weeks

  South Africa
    Mpumalanga
  Swaziland
    Lobamba

Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates.

Description: Volunteer in both South Africa and Swaziland on this three-month program. You will start by spend five weeks in South Africa helping on volunteering projects, then take a week safari and visit Kruger National Park, South Africas largest gamer reserve. Then you will be off to Swaziland where you will do five more weeks of volunteer work before your final week where you will spend your time exploring the coast in Mozambique.

While in South Africa you will have the option of teaching children in local schools or working at on of several childcare centers that provide care and education for underprivileged children, many of whom come from broken families as a result of the AIDS pandemic. In Swaziland you will help to care for vulnerable children and orphans at locally run care centers. There will also be opportunities to teach at local primary schools which are generally under-resourced and under-funded.

*How this program makes a difference*
The children of Swaziland and South Africa are in great need of formal education, as it is often a childs only hope for a bright future. Sixty percent of children in Swaziland cannot afford to attend school due to the effects of unemployment, HIV AIDS and the repercussions of severe drought. South Africa also suffers from high unemployment and the high HIV rates have led to an increasing population of orphans. By teaching and working with these children you can help to provide them with basic education the support that they so desperately need.
