As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to stay in one of the most beautiful capital cities of South America -- Quito! Located in a long, narrow valley, Quito is the perfect place to begin exploring Ecuador's culture and landscape. Volunteers can experience the exotic beauty of Ecuador while making a meaningful impact on the Ecuadorian community!

Ecuador English Teaching Quest:

Volunteers are needed at a High School in Quito to teach English! The schedule changes every semester, but volunteers usually work between 7:30am and 1:30pm. The High school asks the volunteers to teach around 25 hours per week. Volunteers can combine the teaching hours with working at an art workshop teaching theater and dance. Volunteers can also help the local teacher organize a theater performance at the end of their stay!

Typical Volunteer: International volunteer travel is often filled with unpredictable surprises, such as transportation delays, local holidays, etc. Cultures may vary greatly and you might feel outside of your comfort zone in some situations. United Planet offers volunteer opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds and request that volunteers strive to always be: flexible, courageous, open-minded, tolerant and compassionate. United Planet volunteers are offered pre-departure training and materials, which include cultural adjustment tools and other tips to help you adjust to your new surroundings.
