CNN recommends 8 volunteer organizations world wide in their Be the Change Initiative. Open Mind Projects is one. Volunteer to help underprivileged children, street families and orphans in Cambodia. Work with local people, to see and experience Cambodia its charm, its problems, its dark past, through their eyes. All volunteers are welcome to a free and very useful 3 day Orientation in Thailand, with language, culture and teach training, before they start. The Cambodian projects are about 10 hours away by bus The volunteer opportunities that suit all levels of experience and ages. Our volunteers work with local staff, our local representatives, other volunteers or alone and volunteers can stay in our Openmind volunteer house in Battambang, or at the placements.
Highlights:
* Immerse yourself in local Cambodian life and culture. * Live with other volunteers in our volunteer house. * Combine a volunteer placement in one country with another; Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal.
Qualifications:
- Volunteers, interns who come should speak good English. - No prior teaching experience is required. - Important volunteer qualities are initiative, independence, energy, patience and open minds.

Open Mind Projects arranges placements for international volunteers to schools, Orphan Homes, other institutions and projects, in Thailand and Laos. Open Mind Projects cooperates with these schools and institutions with learning ideas, technology and international volunteers.
Schools and other learning/youth institutions in developing nations are understaffed and under resources. New information technology and international volunteers help offset this advantage.
Open Mind Projects wants to facilitate valuable cross-cultural experience, personal development, for volunteers and local childeren and students.
