Description: Home and Care Centre for Children:

Volunteers may teach music, modern dance, drawing, filming, or even cook up a storm for the children! Volunteers may also help tutor the children in their school work, teach them a new sports during their leisure time, offer a listening ear and be a friend. Children are taken into the Homes because they have no one to care for them. They often come from broken families where parents are divorced or where they are abused, or in some cases, where one or both parents are put behind bars for criminal offence.   

Nursing and Destitute Homes for The Elderly:

Volunteers are welcome to help in providing daily care, including feeding and physiotherapy. Help relieve the full time staff's workload by helping to push the wheel-chair bound old folks for their daily activities, or simply be a listening ear! Alternatively, sing, dance and play the guitar for the old folks! Or help organise their birthday parties! Some of aged have no families to take care of them, some families are too poor to support them, while others need specialised care because of their illnesses.

Day Activity Centre for Persons with Disability:

The Day Activity Centre helps to care for youths and adults with Downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment or epilepsy.

Volunteer your time and any relevant skills (including positive behaviour support and management, alternative & augmentative communication skill training, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, sensory integration, disability sports, recycled art) in joint effort with this non-profit organisation. Get involved in training the disabled in activities of daily living, community living skills as well as social and recreational skills. These activities help them to acquire basic skills to live a more independent life.

Highlights: Enrich your visit to Singapore with a meaningful volunteer experience! You may volunteer with organisations that work with the underprivileged children, elderly and disabled. You will be involved in supporting the needs of the host organisation while you are there, ranging from developing social activities or games for the residents to working on handicrafts. Qualifications: A genuine interest to help the less privileged. Volunteers may choose to volunteer in activities relating to their hobbies, talents and interest, including teaching English, Computer, Music, Dance, Arts, Crafts and any other specialised skills. General helping hands are also welcome.
