Description:
Cambodia is a resource-poor country with thousands of families still living in poverty. In addition to a number of debilitating social reasons as well as the wide-spread poverty, there is a multitude of orphaned children throughout Cambodia . Great emphasis has been placed on securing a safe future for orphans by offering them a stable home environment, love, and an education. Our volunteer programs in Cambodia collaborate with local orphanages to protect these exploited children. As a participant in this program, you will have the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the lives of these precious children (usually ages 1-18 years). You will be assisting them with learning and improving their English, helping with homework, or encouraging their involvement in activities that may aid in their development (educationally, socially and creatively). Volunteers are also able to donate their time performing various administrative duties during their free time. While there are no specific qualification required, Cambodia 's orphanages need loving, caring and compassionate volunteers to provide much-needed assistance.

Institute For Field Research Expeditions's Mission Statement: The mission of our volunteer abroad program is to offer meaningful volunteer abroad opportunities for volunteers and to seek sustainable solutions for education, health, conservation, and development issues through international volunteering. We hope to achieve this goal by offering community orientated volunteer programs where the efforts of our volunteers go directly to the poor people and their communities.
Many grass-root organizations working in developing countries are poor in resources. These organizations are doing a commendable job to address development, education, health, and conservation issues by launching a variety of programs but these organizations are in a great need of help and support. IFRE promotes these local organizations by making donations and sending volunteers.
