Description:
Tanzania is a country with a majority of citizens living below the poverty level without access to the basic necessities of life. Primary healthcare is one area which is tragically lacking among the widely-impoverished Tanzania. People die every day due to many villages simply not having doctors or basic health care facilities such as clinics or hospitals. Any volunteer interested in joining this health project must possess health care certification, such as an ID as a medical student, EMT or paramedic certification, or nursing or physician's credentials. Volunteers without medical credentials are not allowed to work in this program due to the potential risk. Volunteers may also assist doctors and media.
Highlights:
Volunteers in Tanzania 's health project assist local doctors and medical staffs in the treatment of patients. Also, volunteers may participate in hospital programs such as record-keeping, sanitation, nutrition, or treatment of minor injuries.
