Orphanage Work: We are looking for any volunteer who is willing to work with our staff, and help in any area for the benefit of the needy children in Kenya. The work include caring for children, playing with them, teaching children the approach of life, possibly with songs & dance, teaching classes at the local schools, coaching children on sports, housing construction, fetching water from the well or river, laundry work, collecting firewood, making fire, preparing foodstuff, serving meals to kids, feed animals at the orphanage, fieldwork, research, records, book-keeping, fund-raising, networking, gardening, community service, running errand, communication, counseling on hygiene issues, HIV AIDS, home-based care etc. Overall Description Location of the Program: The program is located at Maragwa approximately 70 kilometers north of Nairobi central Kenya. Duration of the Program: The duration depends on the volunteer's ability and willingness to help. Some volunteers opt to do charity work first and then travel across Kenya for whatever period their visas & money allow.
