Description: The third largest country in South America, it shares borders with Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil, Bolivia and also Chile. A large mountainous country on the Pacific coast of South America, Peru offers a range of choices for a visitor.

Although in recent years Peru has benefited from a rise in tourism offer some economic relief, millions of Peruvians live below the poverty line. More than half of the country's people struggle to survive, close to one fourth of the population live in extreme poverty.

Our programs allow you to take part in meaningful community service work, while discovering the people, sights, sounds, and tastes of Peru. Volunteering in Peru is a way to totally immerse yourself in Spanish culture.

Volunteer Abroad in Peru - Orphanage, Wildlife Conservation, School, Teaching, Indigenous Programs

Highlights: The Inca Empire, with Lake Titiaca, Cuzco and Machu Picchu, the Andes, Amazonian rainforests, cloud people, coastal wildlife preserves and cosmopolitan cities are just some reasons to visit Peru. With a growing tourist infrastructure and affordable flights to Peru, this is an ideal location to volunteer.

With our volunteer program we allow you to discover the wonders of Peru, while doing meaningful community work. This is a great opportunity to enhance your Spanish knowledge, live with the locals and realize one person can make a difference.

Qualifications: We accept volunteers from all nations and backgrounds. Volunteers 17yrs and older. Basic spanish knowledge is required. Volunteers should possess great humor, a caring spirit and a sense of adventure.

Cost Include Description:
Program Coordination: Including pre-trip Orientation Manual, program set up and preparation materials, in-country placement introduction and supervision.

Accommodation and Meals: Volunteers live with a local host family, or stay at a locally operated guesthouse or small hotel. Host families will offer private bedrooms for volunteers. All meals are provided, either with the host family or their guesthouse.

Ground Transportation: Volunteers are provided arrival and departure airport transfers. Transportation and introduction to volunteer accommodations/host family and to the work site is provided on arrival. *Daily transport costs are the volunteers' responsibility, although we try to confirm accommodations within walking distance to work sites.

Project Coordinator & On-site support: Our local Project Coordinators ensure your program operates as it should. Site inspections and exploratory trips are continuous conducted to ensure program integrity. On-site briefing materials and 24/7 emergency support is provided to all volunteers.

Letter of Completion: Volunteers will receive an official letter from A Broader View outlining the volunteer placement for your resume/CV, or as a letter of reference.
