Description: Seeing the difficulties the devoted staff daily faces in caring for so many needy children, I decided to develop a program to bring in volunteers to assist them. The Pak Orphanage Project Rantepao was the result. After 2 years the local project became national and the new name is Pak Orphanage Project Indonesia.

I started with one orphanage in Torajaland, but because of problems with the management of this rich orphanage I decide to quit with this location. I added other orphanages to the Pak Orphanage Project Indonesia. This time real poor orphanages, that needed more help. Not only orphanages in Sulawesi, but even on other Indonesian islands. These orphanages really appreciate the help from me and the volunteers.

All the orphanages we cooperate with offer place to children who are (half) orphan or come from broken homes or the families are to poor to take care of their child(ren). The orphanages offer the children a safe and comfortable place where they get the chance to get education, food and a good youth. Besides that, the most important thing is that the orphanage employees love the children and take care of them. Children of all backgrounds are welcome in the orphanages, admission is based solely on need.

I work on a volunteer basis myself, and thus we need your support. Any help you can provide  time, money, experience and encouragement  will be gratefully received.

Qualifications: Every volunteer will get a participation certificate after they finish the project. Should the volunteer wish to later pursue a student internship at the Pak Project, this certificate can be applied towards their participation. In fact, students are especially welcome, and we will support you during your training with advice and help with study assignments. International volunteer work or internship is great for you CV.

Cost in US$: 750

The fee is including:
- accommodation on a full board base at the orphanage
- return transfer from the airport to the project
- certificate of participation
