Volunteer Teach at Pharos Language School of Alexandria, Egypt

Duration of Program: 7-12 months

Description:
Teachers will be required to teach elementary children of the school.
Teachers will be required to develop lesson plans and schedule course work taken from the curricula.
Teachers will work with the school administration on developing and implementing periodic testing and students evaluations.

Volunteer Teach at Pharos Language School of Alexandria, Egypt

Highlights: Volunteers will be able to gain International experience when working with the staff and the students of the school. Volunteer teachers will be accomodated by the school to stay, learn and visit the historical sites like the pyramids in Cairo and in Luxor and Aswan. Voulnteer teachers will also be able to visit the spectacular beaches on the Red Sea area. Egypt is very rich in culture and the the egyptian people are kind and hospitable.

Qualifications:
- Must have a 4 year college degree in any discipline. (Assistant teachers need only high school at minimum).
- No criminal history or prior convictions.

    Teachers will be required to teach and will be paid a stipend that depends on the number of hours worked at a rate of 10 Egyptian pounds per hour. The school provides free housing and transportation.

  • Typical Volunteer: A volunteer is typically a person who wants to explore the world and what other cultures offer. He/she is outgoing and not afraid to take on challenges. Most volunteers at Pharos schools want to have extended stay in Egypt to learn the Arabic language or learn more about Egyptology and the ancient egyptian civilization. Some also want to spend time on the Red Sea Scuba-diving or just enjoying the nice warm weather Egypt has even during winter months where the typical temperature is in the high seventies to mid eighties.

    Age Range: No age limit is required

    This Program is open to American, Australian, Canadian and European Participants. This Program is also open to Families, Couples and Individuals
