Description:
Peace school is an alternative middle school. This school is different from other usual schools in their purpose and curriculum. It focuses on the value of the nature and environment, group cooperation and independence of teenagers. Each year the school runs a summer camp for the students who are interested in the means of alternative education and the aims of Peace school. The international volunteers will help this summer school, assisting the Korean teachers. They will also have small excursions after the summer camp for a couple of days. The volunteer team will organize and run programs together with Korean teachers and volunteers. The programs mostly consist of sports, hiking, and performing a play. The summer camp is aimed to teach the value of the nature and environment, group cooperation and independence of teenagers. The summer camp welcomes any kind of abilities, ideas and tools for cultural exchange in the programs. Location: Gokseong County, Jeollanam Province, 300 km south from Seoul.
Qualifications:
It is recommended that participants in this project like to work and play with teenagers.
