It is a large municipality located on the East side of Osona's region, and dates from the XVth century. Originally, it was known as L´Esquirol (squirrel in Catalan) because of the first settlers who lived in a rural house with a squirrel. Later on, the new name was given by the moving of Santa Maria de Corco Church. It comprehends the terms of Cantonigròs, Sant Julià de Cabrera and Sant Martí de Sescorts.
