Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: July 10 - July 22

Description: The Music Festival of Cantonigròs is a great event, which attracts during the month of July around two thousand people, both audience and participants to enjoy traditional music and dances. Musicians from 30 different countries come and perform at the festival, so it is a great intercultural experience! The performers, the local people of the area and the volunteers of the workcamp participate side by side in the Festival.

The volunteer activities at the project consist in collaborating with the organization and development of the 21st Music Festival of Cantonigròs. More precisely, the volunteers have to build and dismantle the installations to carry out the Festival. During the Festival, the volunteers will have to help with other services such as catering, entrance control, etc.

Free time activities: Excursions to discover the region and its cultural, natural and social way of life. Also, exchange activities, funny workshops and taking profit of the atmosphere of the Festival.

The project takes place in Santa Maria de Corco (Barcelonés). It is a large municipality located on the East side of Osona's region, and dates from the XVth century. Originally, it was known as L´Esquirol (squirrel in Catalan) because of the first settlers who lived in a rural house with a squirrel. Later on, the new name was given by the moving of Santa Maria de Corco Church. It comprehends the terms of Cantonigròs, Sant Julià de Cabrera and Sant Martí de Sescorts. Cantonigròs hosts an important incoming tourism and the annual festival.
